Sacramento ReGional Association of Malayalees (SARGAM) started in 2001 to provide a forum for the Indian Malayalees residing in the Sacramento area of the state of California. SARGAM is a nonprofit cultural organization incorporated under the laws of the state of Califonria. It is a voluntary community organization of the people of Kerala who reside in Sacramento and nearby areas. At present there are close to 300 Kerala families living in sacramento vicinity.
Most of these families are members of SARGAM or closely associated with SARGAM activities. Every year SARGAM organizes a variety of social and cultural events, involving hundreds of families. SARGAM emphasizes the goal of preserving and promoting the moral, social, cultural, educational, literary and artistic heritage of Indian malayalee community in Sacramento. SARGAM is an active member of many local and national Indian organizations and has been a major presence in the Indian community activities in and around Sacramento.

Purpose of SARGAM is to preserve and promote the moral, social, cultural, educational, literary and artistic heritage of the Malayalee community in Sacramento region. It is a non-political,secular organization. We believe in unity of culture.
